Northern State Parkway Closure Planned On Long Island

A maintenance project will close down this ramp on the Northern State Parkway leading to the Long Island Expressway, transportation officials announced.

On Thursday, Sept. 7, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the Exit 29A ramp from the westbound Northern State Parkway to the westbound LIE will be closed, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The East Hills closure, which is weather-permitting, is to facilitate bridge maintenance.

Drivers traveling at the time of the closure will be directed instead to take Exit 28 for Willis Avenue northbound for access to the LIE.

Officials also advised travelers to drive responsibly in work zones, noting that the fine for speeding in such zones is doubled.
